About

About

Our History

AG One Entertainment was established in 2008 as a collaborative effort to get the independent music in Orange County, California heard. Co-founders Clifton Ellens and Randolph Zuniga worked together on many projects including an unreleased album titled Coming to Terms, before the conception of AG One. Their fundamental focus is facilitating the production and songwriting for artists in various genres of music.

Once established, AG One’s first project took place in January of 2010. Through CNVS, a non-profit organization committed to providing a platform for artists and preserving the art programs in their community, they executively produced and released CANVAS as part of the inaugural CNVS event to accompany the debut of mixed media artist Arnold Randall. For the rest of that year they worked on projects including: Akapela Jonz’s mixtape and marketing campaign, “Will You Be My Fan?” that lead up to the release of his debut EP. The second CNVS event they hosted coincided with the release of the EP titled Canvas II: HiLife Ideologies. We also helped in the rebranding launch of a local nonprofit Youth Leadership America by creating a song about job interviewing used as a promotional tool for reaching out to high school Juniors and Seniors. The last project of the year was executively producing hip-hop artist Akapela Jonz’s debut EP Wake Up and Dream, released independently.

2011 generated a female force for AG One with three releases in different genres. In February 2011, they released a cover of “Funny Valentine” as an introduction to Krista Mone’ working with AG One, for a special Valentine’s Day release. Soon after, the Still Discovering EP by Tanya Thomas along with the soundtrack for designer Renee Prudhomme’s SS2011 fashion presentation, INDIGO, were released online and distributed. Ending out the year with a bang, AG One released an EP called Laced: A love Affair… for Beatnic (BTNC) as part of the Fullerton Art Walk event showcasing artist Arnold Randall and debuting photographer, Edizon Flix.

In 2012, a year after working with singer, Krista Mone’, on “Another Goodbye” and a cover of the classic “My Funny Valentine,” she signed on to have AG One executively produce her EP Open Relationship which was released on Valentine’s Day. Later in September, they partnered up with the socially conscious t-shirt company, Royal Dynamite, to help launch their nonprofit organization RD Cares. Contributing an EP as part of a one-for-one campaign that came with every t-shirt purchase as part of the #WAR line — “We Are Royal,” for every t-shirt purchased, an education package was given to a child in need in Sierra Leone.

In the summer of 2013, AG One started working with an Orange County rock band, Vanity Heist. They released a single “This Is It,” a solid cross over pop record that infused rock elements and catchy lyrics. Later that year, they served as Music Consultants for Cool World TV. Studying industry trends, they decided to transition to film and take a more active role in music supervision. This lead to working with Issa Rae’s YouTube channel on two web series entitled Butter+Brown (2014) and Fundamental (2015). AG One wrote the theme music and serves as the show’s music supervisors since their debut.

2015 also brought about the production and writing in two of their own films: 30 Project and Date Night. Handling this new medium provided many opportunities including contributing four original songs on the score for A Laker Life: El Primero, a film about the first latino in the NBA. This gained recognition when they won a Telly Award for their work. Finding new sounds is still essential to their creative process, which is why El Pollo Loco contracted AG One to write a song with a latin influence and western sound. So far, 2016 has proven to be promising with penning the theme for the “Talk Thirty To Me” podcast. That has lead to consultations with other podcasts and executively producing two shows. Recent projects have included an afrobeat remix of the lead single off of Evan Geesman’s album Uncoiled called “$talk$ Lago$” (released through Ubiquity Records) as well as a Rihanna Dub remix titled “5 Year$.” They continue to work as a songwriting and production team servicing artists nationwide with records that that range from R’nB and Hip Hop to Pop, Acoustic, and have created a demand for their fusion sound Electro World Groove.
